Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has hinted at a possible reunion between President William Ruto and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua before the 2027 general election.
🇰🇪 Breaking It Down
Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV on Sunday, August 9, Kuria alleged that Ruto and Gachagua could strike a deal and are likely to work together again despite their public political fallout that led to Gachagua's impeachment in 2024.
Kuria challenged Gachagua to publicly declare that he does not have a political deal with Ruto and will not enter into one before the 2027 elections, stating that Kenya's political landscape could produce unexpected alliances before the next election.
"I've asked him yesterday to go to the moderator of the PCEA church. Take the Bible and say to the world, one, that he doesn't have a deal currently with William Ruto. And two, that he's not going to have one before 2027," Kuria said.

He further referred to planned overseas travel in September, mentioning that Gachagua was preparing for a trip to the United States and that Ruto would also be there during the same period, suggesting that the two might strike a deal during the period.
"Rigathi is preparing for an overseas trip in September in the US. Ruto will be there in September. I don't know what I'm saying, but watch this space," he added.
Kuria's remarks come even as political figures align themselves with strong alliances ahead of the August 11, 2027, elections.
Although Gachagua, who is the leader of the Democracy of the Citizens Party (DCP), has on many occasions denied the possibility of working with Ruto, Kuria has maintained that the former DP is considering working on possible terms with the Head of State.
Ruto and Gachagua were elected on the Kenya Kwanza ticket in the 2022 elections, but their relationship later deteriorated after Gachagua was accused of insubordination against the President.
An impeachment motion was later presented in parliament, where Gachagua was impeached and formally confirmed by the Senate.
