Jukwaa Payment Terms
Jukwaa Platform Policy These Payment Terms explain how payments, wallet top-ups, purchases, subscriptions, creator earnings, taxes, transaction fees, refunds, failed payments, and payment disputes are handled on Jukwaa. Jukwaa is operated as a product of Creative Digital Lab Limited, a company registered in Kenya. By making a payment, topping up your wallet, purchasing content, subscribing, renting, tipping, buying access, or otherwise using paid services, you agree to these Payment Terms and all related Jukwaa policies. Jukwaa may support payment methods depending on country, availability, provider approval, configuration, and transaction type, including M-PESA/Safaricom Kenya, PawaPay, Tingg/Cellulant, Paystack, bank transfers, other channels, and Jukwaa wallet balance. Not all methods are available to all users, creators, countries, or content types. Jukwaa may add, remove, suspend, or change methods for operational, technical, regulatory, compliance, provider, or commercial reasons. Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers, mobile money operators, banks, card networks, aggregators, settlement providers, or authorised partners. Their terms, charges, reversal rules, limits, settlement timelines, fraud checks, and disputes may apply. Jukwaa is not responsible for third-party delays, failed transactions, reversals, outages, compliance checks, chargebacks, fees, network failures, or interruptions except where required by law. Jukwaa may display prices, wallet balances, or transactions in one or more currencies. Where a wallet is held or displayed in USD, payments in local currencies such as KES, NGN, GHS, UGX, TZS, ZMW, or others may be converted using applicable rates at payment, settlement, wallet credit, or reconciliation. Conversion may cause differences between amount paid, wallet amount credited, creator earnings, settlement to Jukwaa, and payout amount. Jukwaa is not responsible for exchange-rate fluctuations unless stated in writing. Jukwaa may allow wallet top-ups for videos, films, articles, publications, e-books, scripts, subscriptions, rentals, pay-per-view content, creator memberships, digital event access, tips/support payments, and other approved digital products or services. Minimum top-up may be set and displayed. Wallet top-ups are credited only after successful provider confirmation. Wallet balances are for use within Jukwaa. Unless required by law or approved, they are not bank deposits, do not earn interest, are not transferable without approval, are not redeemable for cash except where permitted, may be reviewed, and may be suspended for suspicious activity. Jukwaa may correct balances for errors, duplicate credit, failed settlement, reversal, chargeback, refund, fraud, or provider correction. Users may use supported payment methods or wallet balance to purchase access to paid videos, films, music, articles, PDFs, publications, e-books, scripts, downloads, courses, masterclasses, livestreams, event recordings, subscriptions, rentals, pay-per-view access, digital tickets, and other approved content. Access may be limited by time, device, account, country, content type, subscription status, creator settings, payment status, or platform rules. Rental or pay-per-view access may be limited by period, session, views, device, account, or territory. Failure to watch or use content within the access window does not automatically qualify for refund. Users must check access period, price, description, and compatibility before purchase. Subscriptions may be monthly, annual, or as shown at checkout. Unless stated otherwise, fees are charged at the start of each period; users may cancel future billing; cancellation stops future renewals; cancellation does not automatically refund the current period; access may continue until period end; and failed renewals may suspend or end access. Jukwaa may allow tips, donations, or creator support. These are generally voluntary and non-refundable unless duplicate, confirmed fraud, processing error, or legal requirement applies. Creators must not misrepresent tips, fundraising, charity, or support payments. Jukwaa may restrict tips or donations linked to illegal, fraudulent, harmful, extremist, hateful, misleading, or prohibited activity. Jukwaa may deduct platform commission from creator earnings. Commission may vary by content type, creator category, country, payment method, campaign, subscription model, promotional support, creator agreement, distribution agreement, or commercial arrangement. Creators should not assume gross sales equal net payout. Payments may be subject to mobile money charges, card processing fees, gateway fees, settlement fees, bank charges, failed transaction fees, refund fees, chargeback fees, foreign exchange costs, cross-border transfer charges, taxes, and statutory deductions. Jukwaa may deduct applicable charges before wallet credit, access, earnings calculation, settlement, refund, or payout. Transactions, creator earnings, commissions, or payouts may be subject to VAT, withholding tax, income tax, digital-services-related taxes, excise or transaction taxes, and other statutory deductions. Creator payouts may be subject to Kenyan or other applicable tax rules. Creators are responsible for tax obligations, filings, invoices, and records. Jukwaa may request KRA PINs, tax information, invoices, or documents. Payments may fail due to insufficient funds, incorrect details, mobile money timeout, bank/card decline, provider outage, user cancellation, network failure, fraud/compliance review, expired session, provider rejection, or technical error. If funds are deducted, contact Jukwaa with transaction reference. Where the provider confirms deduction without credit or access, Jukwaa may assist with investigation, wallet credit, replacement access, or refund. Reversals are subject to provider procedures. If charged more than once for the same transaction, Jukwaa may review and resolve through wallet credit, refund, replacement access, or correction. Users must provide references, account details, amount, date, and screenshots where available. Access is granted only after payment is confirmed. SMS, bank deduction, or mobile money prompt does not always mean Jukwaa received confirmation. Delayed confirmation may delay access. Jukwaa may deny or suspend access where payment is pending, failed, reversed, disputed, flagged, or incomplete. Refunds are governed by the Jukwaa Refund Policy. Digital content purchases may be non-refundable once access has been granted, streaming started, a file opened, a download link issued, or a subscription period begun. Refunds may be considered for duplicate payments, failed access, technical errors caused by Jukwaa, undelivered content, or provider-confirmed errors. If a user disputes a payment externally, Jukwaa may suspend access, review the account, submit evidence, restrict future purchases, recover fees/losses, deduct disputed amounts from creator earnings, and suspend payouts linked to disputed transactions. Users should contact Jukwaa before external disputes. Jukwaa may review, delay, cancel, reverse, or report transactions suspected of fraud, stolen payment methods, fake accounts, refund abuse, chargeback abuse, money laundering, terrorist financing, suspicious circular transactions, bot activity, piracy, prohibited content, payment manipulation, or off-platform payment circumvention. Jukwaa may cooperate with providers, banks, operators, regulators, law enforcement, and rights holders. Creator payouts are governed by the Jukwaa Payout Policy and may be subject to successful payment confirmation, commission, fees, taxes, refunds, chargebacks, thresholds, verification, fraud checks, rights disputes, takedown requests, settlement, and compliance review. Jukwaa may hold, adjust, reverse, or delay payouts where required. Users are responsible for valid payment methods, sufficient funds, correct details, checking content descriptions, keeping credentials secure, not sharing paid access, reporting failed payments promptly, and avoiding fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful transactions. Jukwaa may update these Payment Terms from time to time. Material changes may be notified through the Platform, email, account notice, or website update. Continued use of paid services means acceptance.
