🇰🇪 Breaking It Down

In a statement issued on Tuesday, August 11, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) disclosed that the six people arrested include one Indian national, two Pakistani nationals and three Kenyan citizens.

The DCI’s Operations Support Unit (OSU) traced the rescued individuals to a two-bedroom house in the Fort Jesus area.

“Detectives from the Operations Support Unit (OSU) have arrested six suspects and rescued three Indian nationals who had been reported missing after arriving in Kenya on August 5, 2026,” the DCI stated.

📌 What You Need to Know

The Indian nationals had reportedly arrived in the country on August 5 and were reported missing after leaving Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

According to preliminary findings, they were picked up from the airport in a taxi allegedly arranged by a person who was waiting to receive them in Ruiru.

Detectives said the three were then taken to the house, where they were allegedly kept without access to communication with the outside world.

Initial questioning indicated that the suspects claimed they were helping the three foreigners travel to Italy through Ethiopia.

In addition, a Kenyan minor who was reportedly working as a domestic worker was also found at the premises during the operation.

Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the foreigners’ movement from the airport to the house and their subsequent confinement.
