Kisii, Embu, and Migori counties are among the first eight counties to benefit from the County Aggregation and Industrial Parks (CAIPs) as the government accelerates the completion and operationalisation of the programme.
🇰🇪 Breaking It Down
This was announced by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki during a meeting on Wednesday, August 26, when he reviewed the progress of the CAIPs programme.
According to the DP, CAIPs in Kisii, Migori and Embu are nearing completion, with the government now moving to procure common-user facilities required to make the parks operational.
Other counties whose parks are also near completion include Meru, Kirinyaga, Busia, Garissa, and Wajir.

"The Government is accelerating the finalisation of the construction and operationalisation of the first eight County Aggregation and Industrial Parks (CAIPs) as the first step towards creating a newly industrialised economy," Kindiki stated.
"Meru, Embu, Kirinyaga, Kisii, Busia, Migori, Garissa and Wajir CAIPs are nearly complete and procurement of common user facilities underway," he added.
According to Kindiki, the government has also mobilised raw materials that will support production and value addition once the facilities become operational.
He said frameworks for attracting and involving private-sector investors and operators are also being finalised.
His announcement comes months after President William Ruto revealed a KSh2.4 billion government plan to establish common-user facilities in every county aggregation and industrial park across Kenya, starting in July 2026.
"We are providing, in the coming budget, resources to make sure that we bring on board common user facilities in every county aggregation and industrial park," stated President Ruto in May 2026.
