The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has announced that it is expanding its partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to enhance corruption investigations through artificial intelligence, digital forensics and other modern investigative tools.
🇰🇪 Breaking It Down
EACC Director of Investigations John Lolkoloi said future cooperation would include equipping the commission technologically through artificial intelligence and digital forensics as investigators handle increasingly complex corruption and economic crime cases.
The commission also intends to strengthen its work on recovering assets and information exchange through continued engagement with the FBI.
“The EACC remains committed to working with the FBI to strengthen investigations, build capacity in areas like artificial intelligence and digital forensics, and enhance asset recovery and intelligence sharing,” read a statement issued by the commission.

FBI representative Andreas Aguirre said combating corruption requires agencies to work together and combine their expertise and resources.
“FBI representative Andreas Aguirre emphasised that success in combating corruption cannot be achieved in isolation, underscoring the importance of strong partnerships and inter-agency collaboration,” the statement added.
Aguirre added that the partnership has helped strengthen both institutions’ capacity to handle complex corruption and financial crime investigations.
According to Lolkoloi, the cooperation had already strengthened the commission’s investigative work through specialised training, technical assistance, intelligence sharing and access to modern tools.
He also noted that corruption, money laundering and illicit financial flows increasingly cross national borders, requiring closer cooperation between law enforcement agencies.
The two agencies reaffirmed their cooperation during the launch of upgraded interview facilities at the EACC Upper Eastern Regional Office in Isiolo on Friday, August 7.
