The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has reduced the price of diesel by Ksh5 per litre in its latest monthly review, while petrol and kerosene prices will remain unchanged.

🇰🇪 Breaking It Down

The new prices will take effect from Saturday, August 15, 2026, and remain in force until September 14, 2026, with the changes coming after a decline in the cost of imported diesel.

Following the latest review, super petrol will retail at Ksh214.03 per litre, diesel at Ksh217.86, while kerosene will remain at Ksh191.38 in Nairobi.

In Mombasa, super petrol will retail at Ksh210.87 per litre, diesel at Ksh214.58, and kerosene at Ksh188.09.

📌 What You Need to Know

EPRA said the reduction would have been accompanied by changes in the prices of other petroleum products were it not for additional government stabilisation measures worth Ksh938 million.

The authority maintained the price of Super Petrol and Kerosene at their current levels, with the stabilisation support cushioning consumers from changes in the cost of the products.
