Huduma Kenya has warned the public and its staff against a fraudulent email account being used to impersonate the agency’s Chief Executive Officer.

In a notice obtained by Kenyans.co.ke , issued by Huduma Kenya on Monday, August 17, the agency cautioned the public against responding to suspicious communication or sharing sensitive information.

"Huduma Kenya wishes to notify the public on fraudulent emails impersonating the Office of the CEO. Please be cautious of any suspicious communication or other sensitive details," a statement from the agency read.

According to the notice, some Huduma Kenya staff members had reported receiving emails from an account purporting to represent the Office of the CEO.

The agency identified the suspicious email address, clarifying that it is not an official Huduma Kenya communication channel.

“The official email address for the CEO is [email protected]. Members of the public are urged to verify email addresses before responding to any communication claiming to originate from Huduma Kenya,” the notice read.

The warning comes months after Huduma Kenya cautioned Kenyans over a separate recruitment scam targeting people seeking employment at its service centres.

In February, the agency said fraudsters had been issuing members of the public with fake appointment letters purportedly signed by the Director General, falsely promising immediate deployment to Huduma Centres across the country.

At the time, Huduma Kenya clarified that it was not conducting mass recruitment and urged Kenyans to disregard the fake employment offers.

The agency said all official Huduma Kenya communications are issued through its verified channels, including its official website, Huduma Contact and Tele-Counselling Centre.
