A man convicted of murder in California has joined a growing list of Kenyan nationals who have been arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

🇰🇪 Breaking It Down

The arrest was part of a wider operation involving non-American individuals convicted of crimes including murder, sexual offences and drug trafficking.

In a statement, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) identified a Kenyan man among individuals arrested by ICE on Tuesday, August 4, in a crackdown targeting what it described as “the worst of the worst.”

“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the arrest of more worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens, convicted for despicable crimes,” the statement read.

📌 What You Need to Know

According to DHS, the man had been convicted of murder in Compton, California, before being taken into ICE custody.

Authorities did not provide additional details on the man’s immigration status, sentence history or pending removal proceedings.

DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said ICE officers were continuing to arrest and remove undocumented immigrants considered public safety threats.

“Just yesterday, ICE arrested murderers, pedophiles, sexual predators, drug traffickers, and other public safety threats. Every day, the men and women of ICE are arresting and removing illegal aliens from our nation,” Mullin stated.

The arrest comes as President Donald Trump’s administration continues efforts to increase immigration enforcement and deportation of individuals without legal status.

DHS disclosed that more than three million undocumented immigrants had left the United States within one year under Trump’s leadership, citing removals and voluntary departures.
