A leading private Saudi Arabian independent investment holding and construction firm has acquired a 49 per cent stake in Jabali Towers, the flagship mixed-use development at Tatu City Special Economic Zone in Kiambu County.
🇰🇪 Breaking It Down
The investment will be made through its subsidiary in Kenya, which will own 50 per cent minus one share in the project company, while the Tatu City developer will remain the majority shareholder.
The deal comes as Kenya's construction industry records a strong recovery.
According to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics' 2026 Economic Survey, the sector expanded by 6.8 per cent in 2025 after contracting by 0.7 per cent the previous year, driven by increased residential developments, road projects and higher cement consumption.
📌 What You Need to Know
Jabali Towers comprises two residential towers rising 25 and 36 storeys above Tatu City, about 30 kilometres north of Nairobi.
The development will include more than 35 restaurants and retail outlets, with the first tower already more than 80 per cent sold.
Earlier this week, Tatu City appointed China Road and Bridge Corporation as the main contractor for the 88,000-square-metre project.
The Saudi company said it would combine its construction expertise, building materials and capital to deliver what it described as one of Africa's premier mixed-use developments.
Founded in 2010, Tatu City has grown into Kenya's largest privately developed mixed-use Special Economic Zone.
The project has attracted more than 110 local and international businesses alongside schools, manufacturers and logistics firms.
