The fully funded programme also targets people affected by the ongoing construction of the 740-kilometre Isiolo-Mandera highway and persons living with disabilities.

Funded by the World Bank under the Horn of Africa Gateway Development Project, the initiative seeks to equip beneficiaries with practical vocational skills to improve employability.

It also seeks to enhance entrepreneurship skills among the beneficiaries and improve livelihoods in communities affected by the infrastructure project.

Participants will have an opportunity to pursue courses in masonry, plumbing, electrical installation and electronics, automotive engineering, welding and fabrication, carpentry and joinery.

They will also acquire skills in hairdressing and beauty therapy, fashion and design, food and beverage production, computer and mobile phone repair, ICT, motor vehicle mechanics, tailoring and dressmaking, and pastry and bakery.
