The Kenya Railways Corporation has dismissed reports that services on the recently launched Nyahururu Safari Train have been reduced, insisting that the train continues to operate according to schedule.

🇰🇪 Breaking It Down

The clarification comes after passengers alleged that the train's operations had been reduced to just two trips per week, down from the original schedule of four.

According to the allegations, passenger numbers have been low, forcing Kenya Railways to cut back its services.

There were also allegations that the safari train's bodies had been reduced from the initial seven to only three, and that it is currently operating with only three.

📌 What You Need to Know

However, in response, the agency flagged the allegations as false, cautioning the public against falling for them.

According to Kenya Railways, the Nyahururu train service runs twice a week by schedule, dismissing claims that it was initially supposed to operate four times a week.

"Kindly note that the information provided is inaccurate. The Nyahururu Safari Train remains fully operational and continues to run twice a week as per the attached schedule, providing a unique travel experience through some of Kenya's most scenic landscapes," Kenya Railways stated.

According to the agency, the train departs Nairobi every Tuesday and Friday, while return journeys from Nyahururu are scheduled every Wednesday and Sunday every week.

The concerns came weeks after the train service was relaunched after nearly 40 years of non-operation.

The safari train service was launched on June 2 to help the movement of people and goods to and from the capital.
