Police apprehended him between the Sultan Hamud and Lesonkoyo SGR passing stations, which facilitate the safe passage of trains travelling in opposite directions while supporting operational monitoring along the railway corridor.
“Swift action by Kenya Railways security teams, police officers and members of the surrounding community has led to the arrest of a suspected vandal at K375 between Sultan and Lesonkoyo SGR Passing Stations,” the corporation explained.
Kenya Railways said preliminary findings indicate that the suspect was tampering with copper earthing wires installed along the railway line.
