🇰🇪 Breaking It Down

According to a notice issued on Tuesday, September 29, the upcoming ATP academic year will begin on February 1, 2027, with applications closing on November 13, 2026.

“The Kenya School of Law invites applications for admission to the Advocates Training Programme for the 2027/2028 Academic Year. Qualified applicants may apply as outlined,” the notice stated.

At the same time, KSL has opened applications for the Pre-Bar Exams, which are scheduled to run from January 11 to January 13, 2027.

📌 What You Need to Know

Applicants seeking to sit the examinations have until December 11 to submit their applications.

Prospective applicants have been instructed to strictly follow the stated eligibility requirements and application procedures when submitting their forms.

The school has also advised applicants to consult its website for information on examination schedules, fees and admission requirements.

The announcement comes as changes to the legal education sector are being reviewed following the introduction of new regulatory frameworks by the Council of Legal Education (CLE).

The new framework would allow qualified public and private universities to seek licensing to offer the ATP, expanding advocate training beyond KSL.

The proposal was prompted by a Court of Appeal ruling that affirmed CLE’s mandate to accredit and license institutions offering the programme.
