🇰🇪 Breaking It Down

The vehicles are listed in auction notices published in the Kenya Gazette dated September 11, 2026, alongside motorcycles, a tuk-tuk and other uncollected goods being held at various locations across the country.

Several BMW X5s feature on the list, alongside Range Rovers, Mercedes-Benz models, a Volkswagen Touareg, Toyota vehicles and a Nissan Pathfinder.

One of the notices lists BMW X5s as well as a Volkswagen Touareg and Mercedes-Benz C250. The vehicles are being held at a garage in Karen.

📌 What You Need to Know

Another list includes a Range Rover, Toyota Matatu, Toyota Prado and Mitsubishi Mini Pajero , among other vehicles and motorcycles held at a police yard in Rongai.

Uncollected vehicles in garages and police stations have become a familiar sight in recent months, with owners leaving their property for various reasons.

On most occasions, vehicles are left uncollected in garages after impoundment by police following an accident

On some occasions, owners cannot afford the repairs, towing fees, or insurance premiums, prompting the vehicle to stay in garages or police stations for extended periods.

In extreme cases, owners decide to abandon the vehicles altogether, especially if the cost of retrieving the vehicle or motorcycle exceeds the logistics of acquiring a new one.

Meanwhile, the September Gazette notices require owners of the listed vehicles and other property to reclaim their goods within the stipulated periods and meet applicable publication, storage, or incidental costs.
