Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy William Kabogo has unveiled a new digital platform designed to give Kenyans easier access to verified information on government ICT programmes, digital services and agencies.
🇰🇪 Breaking It Down
The platform, hosted on Kabogo’s official website, features Kabogo. AI , an artificial intelligence-powered digital assistant, is being developed to help citizens find information on ICT services, government programmes and official public resources.
Kabogo.AI is intended to serve as a single entry point for people looking for information that is often spread across different government websites, agencies, notices and communication channels, and users will eventually be able to ask questions and receive guidance on the relevant government agency, service or official resource.
The planned assistant will focus on areas such as agency and service routing, public resources and official links, as well as ministry-linked information. Moreover, the platform is still being prepared, and its developers say it will be launched once the necessary public information, agency-routing systems and review safeguards are in place.
📌 What You Need to Know
The move comes as the government steps up efforts to use artificial intelligence in public service delivery, with Kenya's 2026 AI policy also calling for wider adoption of AI in sectors including public administration, healthcare, education, agriculture and financial services.
The policy seeks to balance increased use of AI with safeguards around privacy, data protection and accountability, including requirements for organisations handling personal information through AI systems to comply with Kenya's data-protection laws.
For ordinary Kenyans, the new platform could provide a simpler way of finding information such as which government agency handles a particular digital service, where to access an official programme and how to obtain further assistance.
The platform also brings together information about the institutions working under the ICT and Digital Economy portfolio, including areas covering data protection, ICT implementation, connectivity, advanced technology, innovation and digital infrastructure.
Kabogo.AI is part of the ministry’s wider digital transformation agenda, which includes expanding connectivity, strengthening infrastructure, developing digital skills and supporting innovation through programmes such as the Digital Superhighway, public Wi-Fi and digital hubs.
The government is increasingly using digital platforms to simplify access to public services, with Kabogo’s platform providing an agency directory and links to help Kenyans find the right government service.
