“Yesternight, as I was coming to Nairobi from my constituency, we were involved in an accident after being hit from behind by a speeding Isuzu DMax (KDX961T) registered to Isuzu Kenya and leased to the Ministry of Interior,” he stated.
He explained that the impact caused the other vehicle to lose control and roll onto the road shoulder, while his driver managed to bring their vehicle to a stop despite losing the rear right tyre.
Gisairo said he and his team assisted the two occupants of the other vehicle after the crash, who were later taken away in a government vehicle shortly after traffic police arrived at the scene.
The MP disclosed that the incident has been reported to relevant agencies and that investigations are underway.
He added that the Ministry of Interior had identified the two occupants of the vehicle as well as the government officers who allegedly transported them from the scene.
Gisairo said he expected the matter to be fully addressed and any officers found culpable to face disciplinary action under the law.
