Speaking during a press briefing on Thursday, October 8, Wamuchomba said she would no longer seek, campaign or associate herself with the party.
The lawmaker said her decision followed extensive consultations with her constituents, church leaders, the wider community and other leaders.
“I am going to announce today that after soul searching, serious consultation with my voters, community leaders, and the church, I feel that my conscience does not allow me to dine, associate and cluster with people who have no regard for others,” Wamuchomba stated.

“Therefore, I am not going to defend or campaign or seek for any political seat through my party, UDA,” she added.
Wamuchomba accused the UDA leadership and some party members of showing little regard for other members of the party.
