The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has summoned Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma over remarks he allegedly made on August 15 prior to the Linda Mwanachi Homa Bay rally last Sunday.

🇰🇪 Breaking It Down

Through a statement obtained by  Kenyans.co.ke on August 17, the commission wants him to appear at its offices on Wednesday, August 19, at 10am to answer to the growing questions surrounding his alleged utterances.

NCIC says it needs his help with ongoing investigations into utterances he made in Homa Bay County that week.

According to the summons statement, should Kaluma fail to show up, the commission has warned that it will seek a warrant of arrest against him, threatening to push for criminal proceedings if he skips the summons altogether.

📌 What You Need to Know

“ TAKE NOTICE that failure to appear in person at the aforementioned place, date, and time will lead to warrants of arrest being issued for your arrest and production before the Commission and/or the institution of criminal and/or contempt proceedings against you,” NCIC warned.

To piece the evidence together, NCIC obtained verbatim statements that the legislator made in separate gatherings, in which, as per translations, Kaluma is heard warning that anyone backing a ‘one-term movement’ should allegedly be dealt with.

“ As of today, we are issuing the command that anyone who says one term deal with them,” NCIC quoted the MP as saying in part.

He allegedly told the crowd that hotel owners in Homa Bay must hand over lists of their guests so officials could carry out inspections as per the commission.

The translated remarks go further, with Kaluma reportedly saying he had already paid for fuel to help supporters move around Homa Bay and Rodi towns.

He is also said to have insisted that Homa Bay County remains an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) stronghold that backs President William Ruto for a second term in the 2027 General Elections, and that anyone caught pushing the ‘one-term’ narrative would face consequences from those loyal to the MP's camp.
