President William Ruto remains the man to beat ahead of the 2027 Presidential elections, according to the latest poll by Infotrak.
🇰🇪 Breaking It Down
If the poll is anything to go by, Ruto's support has risen since August 2025, with the UDA party leader commanding a 32 per cent popularity. Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka came in second with 13 per cent.
Interestingly, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, who only recently expressed interest in national politics, emerged in third place in the popularity tier with 12 per cent, tied with Fred Matiang'i.
Democracy for Citizens (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua came in fifth on the presidential popularity poll with four per cent, while Babu Owino followed with a modest 3 per cent approval rating.
📌 What You Need to Know
Former Chief Justice David Maraga, came in at 2 per cent, with People's Liberation Party (PLP) Party leader Martha Karua rounding off the named list at 1 per cent support.
A cluster of other aspirants, including George Natembeya, Eugene Wamalwa, Ndindi Nyoro, Okiya Omtatah, Ekuru Aokot, George Wajackoyah, and Jimmy Wanjigi, collectively shared just 1 per cent of the vote. Interestingly, 3 per cent of respondents said they would rather not disclose who they support, hinting at a segment of voters keeping their political cards close to their chest. A regional breakdown of the survey shows President Ruto's dominance is not uniform across the country, with his strongest numbers coming from North Eastern at 59 per cent, followed by Rift Valley at 46 per cent and Nyanza at 40 per cent, both traditional opposition strongholds.
Kalonzo Musyoka, meanwhile, has carved out his own turf in the Eastern region, where he leads all aspirants with 40 per cent support, far ahead of Ruto's 19 per cent, showing his influence remains concentrated closer to home.
The Central region presents a more fragmented picture, with no single presidential aspirant commanding more than 20 per cent support. Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i leads the pack with 19 per cent, likely benefiting from his association with the Jubilee Party.
Notably, 26 per cent of respondents in the region said they were still undecided, the highest proportion recorded across all regions surveyed.
The poll also shows that party affiliation remains a key factor in shaping voter preference. President William Ruto enjoys overwhelming support among UDA supporters at 87 per cent, while Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka commands 89 per cent backing from his party's supporters.
