Kiriaini boda boda chairman Madocho accused Mathioya MP Edwin Mugo Gichuki of facilitating the movement of people into the constituency in an alleged effort to influence his re-election bid.

“He brought them by bus to be registered as voters in this area so that they can vote for him. We want to tell him that we are aware of his scheme. He has not delivered, and we will vote him out,” he said.

Circulating reports alleged that three buses had transported the group, which is said to have included about 500 people from Githurai, to the constituency for the purpose of registering to vote in Mathioya.

Madocho also accused the MP of failing to deliver on his responsibilities and said residents would vote him out if he did not address their concerns .

Protesters further accused Mugo of using constituency development funds to support individuals who do not live in Mathioya.

In addition, Resident Wainaina raised complaints over bursary funds, alleging that money intended for students at a school in Gitugi had not been remitted.
