Thousands of Kenyans who have forgotten their National Social Security Fund (NSSF) membership numbers can now recover them from the comfort of their homes without necessarily visiting NSSF offices.

🇰🇪 Breaking It Down

One of the quickest and most convenient methods is by dialing a USSD code on your phone.

NSSF members are required to dial *303# on their phones and choose the member service option, after which they are required to follow simple steps before recovering their membership numbers.

They will then be required to choose the NSSF number requirement before entering their national identification number.

📌 What You Need to Know

The system will then display the member's NSSF number or send it via a text message.

To do so, users are required to save the number +254 704 303 303 and send the word "Hello" to initiate a conversation. After selecting the NSSF number inquiry option, members can enter their ID number and access their details.

For those who prefer physical assistance, NSSF has advised members to visit the nearest branch office or Huduma Centre with a valid national identification card or passport.

The clarification comes after several users sought the fund's guidance on how they could retrieve their membership numbers.

Some argued that it had been a long time since they got the membership numbers and could not remember them upon retirement.

NSSF is a mandatory public pension scheme that collects retirement contributions from both formal and informal sector workers to secure their financial future.
