The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has changed the dates of key eLogbook training sessions following the government's declaration of Wednesday, May 27, as a public holiday to mark Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations across the country.

🇰🇪 Breaking It Down

In a fresh notice issued to stakeholders, the transport authority said the virtual sensitization sessions initially planned for May 27 will now take place on Friday, May 29, without changing the scheduled training times.

“Following The Kenya Gazette Notice dated 25th May 2026 declaring Wednesday, 27th May 2026, Eid-ul-Fitr public holiday, the Authority informs the public of rescheduling of the eLGBOOK virtual training sessions and demonstrations for the stakeholder categories below to Friday, 29th May 2026,” stated the notice.

On timelines, the fresh notice still retains the morning session beginning at 9:00 a.m.,  which will host members of the diplomatic community.

📌 What You Need to Know

The afternoon training is also scheduled for 2:00 p.m., aimed at bringing together operators across several transport-related sectors.

The afternoon session will incorporate a diverse pool of motorists, targeting transport network companies, insurers, legal practitioners, driving schools, school transport operators, PSV operators, taxi owners, tour operators, and heavy commercial vehicle stakeholders.

The revised program is part of a wider nationwide sensitization campaign ahead of the official rollout of the digital eLogbook system, scheduled to begin on June 10, across the country.

NTSA announced on May 12 that the new electronic platform will fully replace the current paper-based motor vehicle logbook system that has been in use for years by vehicle owners and transport stakeholders.

The eLogbook system, according to NTSA, provides instant digital access, enhanced security against forgery, and seamless online ownership transfers.

It is integrated into the eCitizen platform, which allows buyers, banks, and insurers to verify a vehicle's authenticity using a simple QR code scan.
