The National Transition Safety Authority (NTSA) has issued a new directive on eLogbooks and existing vehicle logbooks.

🇰🇪 Breaking It Down

In a statement on Thursday June 11 NTSA stated that they shall no longer convert already printed paper logbooks to eLogbook.

Additionally eLogbook will only be generated upon application, payment and completion of  motor vehicle registration related processes.

“The eLogbook can only be accessed through your personal account on the NTSA Service Portal.” NTSA Director General Nashon Kondiwa said.

📌 What You Need to Know

According to NTSA only registered motor vehicle owners can download their eLogbook, where they verify the authenticity of an eLogbook through the free NTSA service mobile app or NTSA Service Portal.

NTSA further reiterated that they will never request personal details via social media.

The authority also assured the public that the NTSA officers cannot download the eLogbook on behalf of the client, and no third party or agent is authorised to provide any NTSA services.

NTSA has cautioned motor vehicle owners against sharing personal information and vehicle details with individuals or social media pages claiming to facilitate the issuance or processing of eLogbooks.

Moreover, they urged that phone number, National ID, vehicle details or account log in credentials not be shared with third parties.

This issue followed after NTSA stated that motorists who completed their applications before the transition date will not be automatically migrated to the eLogbook system for those specific transactions.
