The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has clarified that it has not licensed any private company to conduct motor vehicle inspections ahead of the rollout of new inspection requirements scheduled to begin on July 1.
🇰🇪 Breaking It Down
In a public notice issued on Friday, June 26, the authority dismissed reports that private entities had been authorised to offer vehicle inspection services, maintaining that all inspections will continue to be conducted at designated NTSA inspection centres.
However, the Authority has said that inspection of private vehicles four years and older will still go ahead next month.
"All motor vehicle owners with vehicles above four years from the recorded date of manufacture are therefore expected to book for annual inspection through the NTSA service portal accessible through the eCitizen platform," NTSA Director General Nashon Kondiwa said.
