The Office of the Directorate of Criminal Prosecutions (ODPP) has invited members of the public to bid for a batch of unserviceable motor vehicles and assorted stores.
🇰🇪 Breaking It Down
The auction notice as seen by Kenyans.co.ke on July 7 has been scheduled for July 22, starting at 10am, and will take place at the ODPP's Nairobi offices. “The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) invites interested bidders for the sale of unserviceable motor vehicles and absolute stores on 22/7/2026 at 10.00 a.m. at our Nairobi offices,” stated the notice in part.
Trenad Auctioneers has been appointed to conduct the exercise, meaning all bidding activities will be handled under their supervision on the material day.
Anyone interested in taking a closer look before placing a bid can do so during the official viewing period.
📌 What You Need to Know
According to the notice, viewing runs from July 9 to July 17, daily between 9am and 4pm, with everything sold strictly on an as is where is basis.
Of essence, prospective bidders really need to know a number of things before showing up on auction day.
First off, a full catalogue detailing every vehicle and store item up for grabs is available on the ODPP website at ODPP.co.ke and the PPIP portal at tenders.go.ke/tenders. How to Bid Bidders are strongly encouraged to personally verify each vehicle's condition , since neither the ODPP nor the auctioneer offers any warranty on their state.
To participate, interested bidders must pay a deposit, set at 10 per cent of a vehicle's reserve price, or Ksh5,000 for the stores lot.
That deposit goes straight into the ODPP account, held at the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) under the name REC-Directorate of Public Prosecutions, account number 1000181605.
Unsuccessful bidders need not worry, as ODPP makes it clear that their deposits will be refunded once the auction concludes and winners are confirmed.
