President William Ruto has warned leaders in Narok County against sponsoring political violence, calling on them to end divisions and work together to restore peace following early morning violence that left five people nursing arrow wounds ahead of a visit to Emurua Dikirr constituency.
🇰🇪 Breaking It Down
Speaking during his visit to the constituency on Wednesday, Ruto called on the county leadership, from the governor to local leaders, to work together and ensure political hostility is completely ended in the area.
The President said leaders should focus on creating a peaceful environment that would allow residents to benefit from development projects planned for the constituency.
“I want to call all the leaders here, from the governor, women rep and all other leaders. I want you to bring these people together. We don't want fights and violence,” Ruto said.

"These people should live in peace so that we plan for their development," the president added, noting that residents could only plan and achieve meaningful development if they lived together peacefully.
The President's remarks came after violence erupted in the Mambo Leo area ahead of his official visit to Emurua Dikirr to inspect and launch development projects.
Rival political groups linked to current MP David Keter Dollarline and his competitor, Bernard Ngeno alias Buluu, clashed, with five people sustaining arrow wounds during the confrontations.
Buluu accused Keter of orchestrating the attacks moments before the Head of State arrived.
A presidential sweeper vehicle was also allegedly stoned by an irate crowd during the chaos, prompting security personnel to intervene and restore order.
The violence comes against the backdrop of heightened political activity in Emurua Dikirr, with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua having toured the constituency days before Ruto's visit.
