🇰🇪 Breaking It Down

The club temporarily closed eight holes on its course after KFS allegedly took over access to part of the facility.

In an internal memo seen by Kenyans.co.ke , Club Chairman Dennis Mwirigi said KFS had taken over access to the Front Nine, covering Holes 2 to 9.

In the letter dated Tuesday, September 15, Mwirigi said KFS was claiming that the section of the golf course falls within Karura Forest, prompting the club's board to intervene.

📌 What You Need to Know

"We wish to inform you that the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) has invaded the course and taken over access to the Front Nine, from Hole No. 2 through to Hole No. 9. KFS is purporting that this section of the course falls within Karura Forest," the statement read in part.

The club said the affected section would remain closed to members until further notice as the dispute was addressed.

"The Front Nine (Holes No. 2-9) is NOT available or accessible for members' use until further notice," the statement added.

The board said it was handling the matter and working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.

"The Board is seized of the matter and is trying its level best to resolve the situation as urgently as possible," it said.

The closure affects eight holes, while other facilities, including the driving range and parking area , remain operational and have not been affected by the dispute.
