The Social Health Authority (SHA) has revised the verification schedule for selected Level 4 healthcare facilities with pending claims of Ksh10 million and above from the defunct National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF).

🇰🇪 Breaking It Down

In a notice to healthcare providers, SHA said the surveillance and verification dates for the affected facilities had been changed.

“ Affected facilities are requested to check the revised schedule, note their new dates, and have the required claim supporting documents ready for verification,” SHA said.

The changes follow an earlier notice issued by SHA on September 18, 2026, concerning pending defunct NHIF claims of Ksh10 million or more.

📌 What You Need to Know

Affected healthcare providers have been directed to have all claim supporting documents ready when the verification teams visit their facilities.

“The revised list and schedule are available on the website,” SHA said, advising affected facilities to take note of their revised dates.

The latest announcement comes as healthcare providers also prepare for the expiry of their current SHA contracts at the end of September.

In a separate notice, SHA CEO Mercy Mwangangi said existing contracts for healthcare providers and facilities will expire on September 30, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.

Mwangangi urged providers and facilities seeking to continue serving SHA beneficiaries to apply for new contracts and complete the contracting process before October 1.

SHA warned that facilities without an executed contract for the 2026–2029 cycle will not be permitted to offer services to beneficiaries after the deadline.
