Two people are feared dead, and several others are nursing injuries after a tragic road accident that happened at the Valley Arcade area along Kodhek Road.

The accident, which happened on May 23, involved a Kenya Bus Service (KBS) bus.

Images and videos obtained by  Kenyans.co.ke show the bus overturned, with people surrounding the wreckage as they try to save the passengers.

Other images show injured passengers lying on the ground as rescue operations are underway.

Traffic police responded to the scene to clear the wreckage and lead the rescue operations.

Reports reaching our desks detail that the bus was speeding along the route when it lost control and crashed into the nearby vehicles and pedestrians.

Traffic along the busy route was disrupted for several hours as police investigated the possible cause of the accident.

Authorities have yet to release the identities of the victims as anxious families continue gathering at nearby hospitals in search of information about their loved ones.

This accident is not an isolated incident involving a KBS bus. On September 16, 2024, a KBS bus reportedly suffered brake failure along Argwings Kodhek Road, speeding downhill before crashing into a motorcycle at Ole Dume junction, killing two people instantly on impact.

In separate 2018 incidents, KBS buses lost control along Haile Selassie Avenue and Valley Road, causing deaths, injuries, and vehicle damage, and multiple passengers were injured after one bus crashed into a tree.
