Many online have linked the exchange to the outcome of the August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election, in which Davido’s uncle, Governor Adeleke of the Accord Party, secured re-election.

PUNCH Online earlier reported that the governor visited Wike in Abuja as part of a series of consultations following his re-election.

A photograph shared by Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, showed Adeleke and the minister holding the governor’s certificate of return.
