The Kenya Meteorological Service Authority (KMSA) has confirmed that the biting cold currently being felt across several parts of the country will persist for the next seven days, lasting at least until June 22.
🇰🇪 Breaking It Down
According to the latest forecast on June 15, residents in Nairobi should brace themselves for chilly mornings and evenings, with temperatures dropping as low as 13°C.
Nyahururu will be the coldest spot on the map this week, with nighttime temperatures expected to plummet to a freezing 4°C.
Other areas set to feel the pinch include Narok and Laikipia, both expected to record lows of 8 °C during the cold nights.
📌 What You Need to Know
Nakuru, Eldoret and Kericho residents are also not spared, as the weatherman predicts minimum temperatures hovering between 9 and 11°C.
Meanwhile, North-eastern Kenya, covering Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir and Garissa, will record the highest temperatures, with Mandera hitting a scorching 38 °C.
Coastal towns like Mombasa, Malindi and Lamu will continue enjoying warm weather, with highs of around 30 to 31°C.
Despite the cold mornings, most parts of the country will enjoy sunny intervals during the day, offering a brief escape from the chilly anticipated weather.
However, the weather authority has warned that afternoon and night showers may still occur in several regions, especially around the Lake Victoria Basin and the Rift Valley.
Counties such as Kisii, Kisumu, Bomet, Nandi and Kakamega should expect a mix of sunshine and sudden downpours throughout the week.
